Thank You Thursday

Technically, it is still Thursday as I put this together - but I am scheduling it to post Friday morning. :)

I just decided that I don't use enough Kraft Card Stock anymore. With all the gorgeous colors available, why use something that looks like a brown paper bag? I've always loved it though, so when I saw this Ikea ad in a magazine, I decided it would be perfect for my next Color Inspiration.

Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Kraft card stock - match the ad perfectly, don't you think?

Since the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set is just that - shadows and silhouettes, it was the right stamp set for this card. (Though I did throw in the Polka Dot background too!)

Thank You Thursday - with COLOR!

I don't know about you, but I'm NEVER that 'perky' when I'm doing laundry! (Hmmm...maybe I would be if I had a washer and dryer like those! hehe)

Once again, while looking through a magazine, these colors jumped out at me so I had to try combining them for a card. Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Certainly Celery, and Chocolate Chip.

What do you think?

(For some reason, whenever I take pictures of Baja Breeze or Kiwi Kiss my camera completely distorts the color! Maybe it's because of my blue background. I'll have to play with it a little more!)

Anyway, you can see the colors better in the closeup of the cat. I used my Blender Pen and Stampin' Pastels to color the cat with Chocolate Chip chalk. I didn't want it to be a solid color like a marker would do. I just picked up the color with my Blender in the corner of the chalk and colored! So simple!

Thank you Thursday - Blurred Thanks!

Moving right along, I chose the little boxes at the top of page 26 to duplicate, except that I didn't duplicate them! I copied the basic layout and used it on a card.

But, I did use the technique the artists used on the box! For my card, I stamped the collage stamp from the Fresh Cuts set in So Saffron. Then I used my Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke markers to color in the leaves and swirly thingy's. Then I stamped.

I took my water bottle/misting bottle and sprayed the image until the ink started to run and become blurry. Once it was dry I put the card together.

I did used my Bravo Burgundy marker again for the "Thank You" s that I could put it on 2 lines. Not a bad CASE, and unless I pointed it out, you wouldn't even know I had used the boxes as inspiration!

Just a quick simple card following the template that is located in the August Stampin' Success magazine.

Anyway, very simple card. I used the Flower Fusion flowers to accent my card. Matched the colors to the Designer Series Paper (Summer Picnic.) and that was it!

Thank You Thursday - and CASE-ing all in one!

Moving on to pages 18 and 19 in the catalog, I found some really pretty cards! A couple of them used the sewing machine and thread to add some fun embellishments. Not me! I'd rather add some faux stitching instead!

Here's the close up first. I used my paper piercing tool from the Crafters Tool Kit, lined up my template and pierced away. I didn't intent to have two lines, but when I used the wrong line on the bottom, I added another and matched it on the top! (Happy Accident!?)

For the greeting, I stamped that first, then lined it up in my Word Window Punch window so that I could catch most of it. Then to make it stand out, I went around the outside with my Certainly Celery Marker and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

And the full card...like it?

I hope so because this is another one of the cards we'll be making at my Stamp-a-Stack next Saturday Morning! (August 23rd) We'll be making 12 cards, 3 each of  4 designs. Cost is $30. Thank You Thursday - WITH a tutorial!

I was going to schedule this to post tomorrow, but then I remembered that it's Thursday, and my rule is to only post Thank You Cards on Thursday! :) So here you go!

It's a bonus post too - because I created a tutorial to go along with it! Woo Hoo! With all the techniques you requested, I'm working my way down the list, and this is the next one - Paper Piecing.

(By the way, Colleen M. - I haven't heard from you yet with your mailing address. You were the winner for my 400th Art Gallery Contest! Send it over so I can send the goodies to you!)

Yes, it's another card with the Window Dressing stamp set - this time I brightened it up with Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper! I'm SOOOO happy that it's available in the new catalog! I love this paper! (Though, it has some really stiff competition with the new designer papers!)

If you look closely, you can see that I used the designer paper to "color in" the apple, pumpkin, grapes, bird, and to make a shade for the window! It's SO much easier than it looks - just takes a little time and patience to cut out small things!

Thank You Thursday - 1 day late!

Why does it take so long AFTER a vacation to recover? :) You would think that a vacation is all about relaxation, which ours was, but it took me THIS LONG to finally get back to stamping. eeek!

Anyway - I'm a day late for Thank You Thursday. I was in the mood for something bright an cheery, what do you think of these colors?

By the way, did you know that you can emboss little "dots" with your Crop-a-Dile? Check out the bottom of the scallops! Next time I'll use a guide to make them straight, but I think they turned out rather cute! (I used the large "post" part of the Crop-a-Dile, and just pressed the paper with it.)

Hope you like it - remember, both Time Well Spent (Hostess Set) and Much Appreciated (page 144 in the catalog) are retiring in just a few weeks! Pick them up before it's too late!

Thank You Thursday!

You know...I make WAY too  many Thank You cards. Of course, I'm always using them, but it's just too tempting to throw a "thanks" stamp on just about every card I make!

SO...I'm limiting myself to ONE post a week where the card is a Thank You! (hehe - it's going to be HARD)

Welcome to Thank You Thursdays! Nothing special about it other than, you'll see a Thank You card/gift every Thursday when I post.

I made a bunch of these cards the other day for my daughter's birthday gifts. Just about everything I used is retiring in just about a month! I've loved the Bud Basics stamp set since I received it on  the Mexican Riviera Cruise, and Much Appreciated has gotten a TON of use! (Hence the reason to limit myself!)

Plus, the Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi papers, inks, and ribbons will be gone too! (Definitely stock up on your favorites before it's TOO late!) I hope you like this card - simple to make, everything coordinates, and it's just darn cute!
