Stamping Club Updates!

Since the new catalog is right around the corner (I hope it's right around the corner on a BIG BROWN TRUCK! hehe), it's time to finalize all the clubs I have starting in the next few months!

So...if you've been dragging your feet, it's time to sign up! Here are all the details!

Virtual Stamp Club - ANYONE, ANYWHERE in the US can join! I have 3 spots left - so check out the details and let me know if you'd like to learn a few new techniques and get some great stamping supplies in the process!

Stamp-a-Stack Clubs - these are local. I have spots available for anyone who'd like to sign up to build their card stash every other month! If you live in the Rhode Island/Southern New England area, join in the fun! Check out all the details and let me know! Our first get together is August 23rd at 10:30 am!

Technique Clubs - this club meets every other month, starting September 12th at 7:00 pm. It's also local. Learn three new techniques each month - and build your stamping supplies in the process. I have 3-4 spots available for this club too! Take a look and let me know as soon as you decide!

Don't forget that you can get your friends together and enjoy the benefits of a Tech Club or Stamp a Stack Club and I'll come to you! Contact me for all the details - it's LOADS of fun!

You know you want to join us for the fun, right? Here's a peek at what my Technique Clubs are doing this month! (Tech Club Members...don't look any further if you want to be surprised!)

Isn't this card just yummy? We'll use white mulberry paper to create a "faux batik" look! I had to add some Flower Fusion flowers to it just to complete the "look" - do you like it?

Next, we have a shaker card...just in time for Mother's Day! I always love putting these together, there are so many fun things you can add to "shake" around!

(I'm not sure I like the "stitching" with the white gel pen, maybe I'll try using Certainly Celery and it will match better.)

Last, a Two-Way Open card. Can you figure out how it opens? This is another one with TONS of possibilities. I can think of many variations using designer paper, ribbon instead of a flower to close it, maybe even a "belly band" to close the card instead.

Tech Club Sneak Peek!

Just a little peek at what my Technique Clubs are doing this month! It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but the main images are stamped on tissue paper and then attached to the Whisper White card stock.

It's such a neat look! (And easy to do too!)

Technique Club Teaser...

Since I have some openings for my Technique Clubs in January, I thought I'd share a little of what we're doing this month -- just in case you might be interested in joining us. (And if you are...let me know as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the club!)

I couldn't scan this card because it squashed the bow, which turned out perfectly! :) So the colors are a little off - it really is Groovy Guava!

The technique used on this card is called Shadow Stamping, we used ink to create a 3-D or shadowed look.

I also added the pretty white taffeta ribbon. It's a simple and lovely card!

We also made a Criss Cross card. This is the perfect card to use with your Double-Sided Designer paper! (Which is being promoted this month - Buy 3 get one free!!)

It's also a great card if you want to include a photo of your kids, dogs, etc. for the holidays! Just attach it to the insert and you're done!

Technique Club Preview

Just thought I'd tease you a little with one of the cards/techniques we'll be doing this month in all my Technique Clubs.

The actual technique is called "Double Background", but I also use the Brush Marker and do some "Thumping" too.

Yes, I know we're in the middle of summer, but we can look forward to Autumn...right?

Techniques...

Wow...where does the time go? So much has happened, and yet, I've ignored you all on the blog! SOOOO sorry! :(

BUT, to make up for it, I have some samples to show you - and other goodies! For my August Technique Club, we did Poppin' Pastels, Spotlighting, and Spinner Cards - here are the samples! (Click each card to see the products I used...)

Going Transparent

I just tried the neatest technique! It's called "Flower Transparency" - but you don't have to use it only for flowers.

The flowers on the top card and the stars on the bottom card are the transparencies. Here are the basics... I stuck some clear packing tape to patterened paper and then stamped my images with StazOn. For the flowers, I used paper from the Slumber Party Designer Series, and for the stars I stamped smaller stars on regular printer paper. I cut around the images and then put them into a bowl of water. This softened the paper and made it easy to gently rub it off the tape. The result is that the printed image transfers to the tape. (The stars didn't turn out as bright as I wanted them to, but I'm guessing that's because I stamped them, rather than used printed paper.) Last, I cut closely around each image and attached it to my card! FUN STUFF!

Split Negative Technique

I created this card as part of a SplitCoast Stampers Challenge. I LOVE the result! It's really easy to do too!

The technique is called Split Negative. You stamp once, with two different pieces of paper right next to each other. Then emboss in different (opposite) colors and put the card together! After I embossed the first time, I added the versamarker with white embossing powder for a "snowy" effect.

Gotta Love Embossing!

For a recent workshop, I was asked to demo heat embossing. It's such a GREAT technique! Once you get started, it's hard not to emboss on every card! Here are the cards we made at the workshop...

I love how this one looks like it's stained glass! Just emboss one side of vellum with Black Detail Powder and color the others with your markers!

Embossing can also be used as a background, as this card shows. I used French Script and Gold Glory powder for the background.
